Privacy Policy
Last updated August 3, 2026
This policy explains what Coastline Research Supply LLC ("Coastline", "we", "us") collects when you visit coastlineresearchsupply.com or create an account, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
| Category | Examples | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Name, email address, phone number, shipping address, account ID | You, when you register or order |
| Commercial information | Order history, items purchased, amounts, discount codes used | Generated when you transact |
| Payment information | Payment method type, authorization result, last four digits | Our payment processors. We do not store full card numbers on our systems. |
| Internet activity | Pages viewed, referring page, links clicked, campaign parameters, approximate device type | Automatically, as you browse |
| Technical data | Browser type, operating system, a one-way hashed form of your IP address | Automatically |
| Consent records | Age and research-use acknowledgments, marketing opt-ins, timestamps and IP | You, when you tick a box or submit a form |
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. We do not collect biometric data, precise geolocation, or government identifiers.
2. Why we use it
- To fulfil orders — process payment, pick, pack, ship, and provide tracking and support.
- To operate your account — authenticate you, apply your account rate, and show your order history and documentation.
- To meet legal and compliance obligations — retain records of age and research-use acknowledgments, tax records, and records required to respond to lawful requests.
- To prevent fraud and abuse — detect fraudulent orders, credential stuffing, and chargeback abuse.
- To measure advertising — understand which campaigns produce accounts and orders. See section 4.
- To send marketing — only where you have opted in, and only until you opt out.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of first-party cookies. Strictly necessary cookies keep you signed in and keep your cart and session working; the site does not function without them. A first-party attribution cookie records which campaign referred you so that a later order can be credited to it; it holds a random identifier, not your name, and expires after 90 days.
You can clear or block cookies through your browser. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in and checkout.
4. Advertising and measurement
We advertise on third-party platforms. When you arrive from an advertisement, the link carries campaign parameters that tell us which campaign, ad set, and creative you clicked. We store those parameters against a random click identifier so that if you later create an account or place an order, we can attribute it to the campaign that produced it.
Where we share conversion information with an advertising platform for measurement, we share it in hashed form. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share the contents of your order, the specific products you viewed, or your account documentation with advertising platforms.
Advertising platforms are independent controllers of the data they hold about you. Their own settings, including ad personalization controls, are managed on their platforms and not by us.
5. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers acting on our instructions, and only as far as they need it:
- Payment processors — to authorize and settle payment.
- Shipping carriers and fulfilment software — to generate labels and provide tracking.
- Email and text messaging providers — to send transactional notices and, where you opted in, marketing.
- Hosting, security, and analytics providers — to run and protect the site.
- Professional advisers — accountants and lawyers, under duty of confidence.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to respond to lawful process, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of any person. If the business is sold or reorganized, account records may transfer as part of that transaction; this policy continues to apply to information transferred.
We do not sell personal information, and we have not sold personal information in the preceding twelve months.
6. Retention
We keep account and order records for as long as the account is open and afterwards for the period required by tax, accounting, and product-liability record-keeping obligations. Consent records are retained for as long as needed to evidence the consent. Attribution records are retained in aggregate and de-identified form after 24 months.
7. Security
Traffic to the site is encrypted in transit. Passwords are stored using a one-way hash. Access to customer records is limited to personnel who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we treat unauthorized access as a serious incident and will notify affected account holders where the law requires.
8. Your choices
- Marketing email — click unsubscribe in any marketing message, or email us. Transactional order notices continue.
- Text messages — reply STOP to any message. See section 10.
- Account information — sign in to review and correct it, or contact us.
- Deletion — contact us. We will delete what we are not required to retain.
9. California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended gives you the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of recipients; the right to request deletion; the right to request correction; the right to opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising; and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
We do not sell personal information. To exercise a right, email support@coastlineresearchsupply.com with the subject line "Privacy Request". We will verify your identity against the information already associated with your account before acting, and will respond within the statutory period. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written proof of authorization.
10. Text message terms
If you opt in to text messages, you consent to receive recurring automated marketing text messages from Coastline Research Supply at the number you provided. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help, or email support@coastlineresearchsupply.com. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We keep a record of your opt-in and any opt-out. If you change the phone number on your account, the consent tied to the old number ends and you will need to opt in again for the new number.
11. Do Not Track
There is no common industry standard for responding to Do Not Track browser signals, so we do not respond to them. We do honour opt-out preference signals where the law requires us to.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above, and where the law requires it we will give notice.
